Mission

HDA's mission is to promote and help foster the vibrant Greater Downtown Houston neighborhoods to enhance living, working and playing downtown for the entire Houston community and visitors.  This mission takes the form of numerous events created and executed by HDA, the support of the major performing arts companies in the Theater District, the publication of Downtown magazine and numerous email communications, and the marketing support of many downtown events and activities.

Ways in which we do this include:

• Communicating and promoting via e-mail newsletter, quarterly magazine Urban Update, websites (downtownhouston.org and houstontheaterdistrict.org);
• Emerging Leaders;
• Houston Young People for the Arts;
• Downtown, our quarterly publication in collaboration with the Downtown District of all things downtown;
• Capital One Bank Houston Theater District Open House;
• Downtown Home Tour;
• Haute Town...Summer in the City Fashion Show
• and more!
